Installing Slackware has a slightly different way of installation with most linux. Many people said that the installation of slackware is difficult.
I will share a bit of my experience when I install slackware. The steps of installation are :
- Enter cd or dvd installation.
- Wait for a moment.
- Will appear to select the kernel command, just hit enter on this section.
- Will appear to select keyboard input type, just hit enter on this section.
- Type cfdisk and hit enter. Wait for a moment.
- Determine the partition on the hard drive to your liking.
- Do not forget to set the type for each partition, usually linux have at least two major parstisi, the journaling system (usually only for root) and swap area. For the journaling type system type 82 on space (Linux), and for the swap area type 83 on space (Linux Swap Area). Do not forget to select the write option. And if the question yes / no? type yes.
- Just type setup to start the installation and hit enter. And then, just follow the instruction from cd/dvd live installation.
- And when you entering lilo setup section, choose advanced mode to be able to determine the name of the operating system according with that we want (don't forget to making a flag).
- Follow the step with the right way.
- After the installation finished, type kdm to enter the menu.
